Digital Landscapes | Adam Wells
This video explores the artificial sensory aspects of exploring landscapes using technology. In some sense we can now digitally travel and experience new landscapes without leaving our homes. The piece also alludes to the digital and physical presence we leave.
Inconvenience | Adam Wells
I created a video which juxtaposes peaceful clips of nature with clips from infomercials in which the actors become frustrated and flustered by small inconveniences. The infomercials exaggerate negligible problems to try and convince the viewers to buy unnecessary products. They are also loud and assertive, bombarding the viewer with amplified problems and then immediately offering ‘life changing’ solutions, this contrasts with the passive characteristic of nature in the video. I intended to portray the notion of acknowledging trivial events but letting them pass through your consciousness, thereby not allowing them to affect you negatively.
Life Drawing | Adam Wells
I created a drawing machine which drew a circle continuously, until the battery ran out. I was interested in the performance of the machine itself and how its activity was a metaphor for our life, and the sensation of attempted progression when we seemingly make no headway.
Do you have a sketch book for a level art? Can we see it? :)
